Ticks wait in tall grass, leaf litter and wooded edges; fleas develop in shaded, protected areas where pets rest. Castle’s flea and tick yard treatment targets those areas of your property.

A yard treatment works best alongside veterinary flea and tick prevention for your pets and simple habits for your family. The CDC’s advice on preventing tick bites is a good place to start.

What the yard treatment includes

  • Inspection of wooded edges, leaf litter, tall grass and pet resting areas
  • Targeted treatment of those areas, according to label directions
  • Advice on mowing, leaf removal and creating a dry buffer between woods and lawn

Not included, or quoted separately

  • Treatment of pets themselves — talk to your veterinarian
  • Indoor flea treatment is not part of this yard service; ask us about your situation.

Exact coverage, visit frequency and any guarantee depend on your written service agreement.

Where fleas and ticks live

Ticks are most common where lawns meet woods, along paths and in leaf litter and ground cover. Fleas develop in shaded, sheltered spots where pets or wildlife rest, such as under decks and along fences. Treating these areas, rather than the whole lawn, puts the product where it matters.

Re-entry and pets

We use EPA-registered products applied according to label directions. We will tell you how long to keep people and pets off treated areas when the label requires it.

Signs you may need this service
