Scheduling: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm Eastern. Same-day service may be available, depending on the schedule and your location.
If you have bites you cannot explain, or you have found something in your bed that you think is a bed bug, an inspection can confirm what is going on. Castle Exterminators provides bed bug inspections.
Please note: Castle does not provide bed bug treatment or heat treatment. If our inspection finds bed bugs, we will tell you what we found and where, so you can arrange treatment with a company that offers it. The EPA’s bed bug information is a useful independent guide to what treatment involves.
What the inspection includes
- A visual inspection of beds, bed frames, headboards, upholstered furniture and nearby cracks
- Identification of any insects or evidence we find
- A clear explanation of what we found and where
Not included, or quoted separately
- Bed bug treatment of any kind, including heat treatment
- Treatment of furniture, mattresses or belongings
Exact coverage, visit frequency and any guarantee depend on your written service agreement.
Why an inspection helps
Bites alone are not proof of bed bugs: other insects, skin conditions and allergies can look similar. Other small insects, such as carpet beetle larvae, are often mistaken for bed bugs. An inspection looks for live insects, shed skins, eggs and the small dark spots bed bugs leave on fabric.
Before the inspection
Please do not strip the beds, throw furniture away or use store-bought sprays before we arrive. Moving and disturbing things can spread bed bugs and hide the evidence we are looking for.
Signs you may need this service
- Small, dark spots on sheets, mattress seams or the box spring
- Tiny, pale shed skins or eggs in mattress seams
- Flat, reddish-brown insects about the size of an apple seed
- Clusters of itchy bites that appeared overnight
